Events/Eventos: Harvard European Club Meeting

In the exceptionally mild and sunny beginning of October in Lisbon, an international Harvard Club delegation gathered together for their annual alumni meeting, which took place on a Saturday evening at the Castelo de São Jorge. To welcome the approximately 80 leaders of several European and American Harvard Clubs, Wine with a View organized a festive reception in front of the famous Moorish hilltop castle in the historic center of Lisbon.

Neste início de outubro de Lisboa, excecionalmente caloroso e ensolarado, a delegação internacional do clube Harvard juntou-se para a sua reunião anual de antigos alunos. Esta, neste ano, teve lugar na tarde de sábado no castelo de São Jorge. Para dar as boas vindas aos cerca de 80 líderes de vários clubes Harvard europeus e americanos, a Wine With a View organizou uma receção festiva em frente ao castelo mouro localizado no topo do centro histórico de Lisboa.

One of the castle’s charming stone tables was promptly transformed into a Wine with a View counter, offering home-made finger-food, carefully prepared with selected Portuguese Cheese, Charcuterie, Olives and grapes.

Uma das carismáticas mesas de pedra do castelo foi rapidamente adaptada e transformada num balcão Wine With a View, oferecendo aperitivos caseiros, cuidadosamente preparados com uma seleção de queijo português, charcutaria, azeitonas e uvas.

   

Harvard Alumni Association’s guests were invited by the Wine with a View team to taste some of the best Portuguese wines, such as the light and fruity PQW Rosé with aromas of cherry and wild fruits, the fresh and balanced red PQW reserva with an aroma of wild fruits and nuances of jams and the highlight of the evening, the young and vibrant Vinho Verde Vila Nova with floral aromas and notes of citrus fruits, perfect as a refreshing reward after climbing one of “Lisbon’s seven hills”.

Os participantes do evento da associação dos antigos alunos de Harvard foram convidados pela Wine With a View a provarem alguns dos melhores vinhos portugueses, tal como o leve e frutado PQW Rosé com aromas de cereja e frutos selvagens; o PWQ Reserva, fresco e equilibrado, com um aroma de frutos selvagens e nuances de compota; e o highlight desta tarde de sol, o Vinho Verde Vila Nova, jovem e vibrante com aromas florais e notas de frutos cítricos, perfeito como uma recompensa refrescante depois de subir uma das “sete colinas” de Lisboa.

The reception was a remarkable success and before the group entered the restaurant for their programmed dinner, they were delighted by the experience of sipping excellent Portuguese Wine with the magical View of the sun setting in the river Tagus.

A receção foi um grande sucesso e mesmo antes de o grupo entrar no restaurante para o jantar, ainda conseguiu experienciar a essência da Wine With a View: admirando um lindíssimo por do sol no rio Tejo, enquanto desfrutaram de um excelente vinho português.
